A charity run is a common and tested idea and is most likely going to be a successful fundraising event. This event raises money for a good cause and it also allows the participants to get in shape. There are many good causes to organize a charity run for. Examples include breast cancer, disease research and more.
Venue
Decide where the venue is going to be and how long the distance is going to be. Most common distances are 5km for a fun run and 10km for a competitive run. In addition you could also have a charity fun walk for those that prefer not to run.
Advertising
Make sure your event is well advertised. Use what ever media you can get access to. The most common would be the TV and papers. You could also come up with posters and flyers to distribute around the neighbourhood to raise the awareness of people about your event.
Fundraising Tips

Set a registration fee or ticket fee. Try to sell as much tickets as possible. Make sure the costs of the tickets are able to cover your costs. To save on costs, perhaps you could find sponsors willing to sponsor your event in return for having their brand or name available on your posters or banners.
You could also set up some stalls to sell snakes and drinks as after the event, people tend to need to replenish their energy. The business is bound to go well.
